The best way to protect your vision is to get it checked through an annual comprehensive examination. An examination by our doctors at Argos Vision and Eye Care Center will not only check the health of your eyes but also detect any developing eye diseases or disorders. This is crucial to maintaining good eye health since many of these eye diseases are progressive and have no symptoms, so the exam is the only way to diagnose them before they start to seriously impact your vision. The annual examination also measures your vision and will recommend any correction lenses needed to make it as perfect as possible. Gaithersburg eyeglasses are what many people use to correct vision.

Our optical shop can fulfill your prescription for Gaithersburg eyeglasses or contact lenses. Our doctor has provided the best corrective lens prescription for your eyes but the prescription will not help unless it is filled properly and put into the right pair of Gaithersburg eyeglasses. Our opticians will work with you to select a pair of frames that not only look good with your facial structure and sense of style but also are right for your prescription. If you have a strong prescription a large frame may be too big and heavy, or if you need multifocal lenses you have to have enough room in the frames to include each focal segment. Stronger prescriptions might necessitate the use of lighter weight lenses to keep the stress on your nose down. There are many aspects of selecting the proper frames that our opticians are expert at and can help guide you. Luckily our optical store has thousands of designer frames at affordable prices to help you find the right eyeglasses.

Another aspect of making the perfect pair of Gaithersburg eyeglasses for you is getting the prescription right. The doctor’s prescription has to be placed correctly in the frames and measured accurately by our trained and experienced opticians. If the lenses aren’t perfect in the frames your vision won’t be perfect either, so we work hard to get it perfect for you. Please come to one of our locations to choose the perfect pair of eyeglasses to compliment your style, your look and improve your vision.

Gaithersburg Eye Exam

Eye care office in Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg eye exam

Gaithersburg eye exam

Our Gaithersburg eye exam includes various essential and revealing tests that are designed to determine how good your vision is right now, and also detect the presence of any of the most common eye diseases. Here at Argos Vision and Eye Care Center, our commitment to the overall wellness of your eyes is our top priority.

The vision testing portion of our Gaithersburg eye exam consists of a visual acuity test, in which you will read from an eye chart; along with a refractive assessment. Our optometrist checks several different strength lenses to find out which give you the best corrected vision. If you currently wear eyeglasses or contacts, you should bring them with you. If it turns out that you do need a new or updated prescription for corrective eyewear, you will receive a prescription that our optical department can make for you. Testing for eye diseases like cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal disease in general is key to promoting the highest level ocular well-being possible. You cannot depend on being alerted by symptoms during the early stages of eye disease. They typically form and develop without indications, and by the time you do notice a problem, it usually means that the condition has become advanced and a degree of vision loss or damage to your eyes has occurred, either of which might not be reversible. Tonometry is the vital test used to diagnose glaucoma, while a slit lamp exam is its equivalent for cataracts. And with indirect ophthalmoscopy, retinal diseases can be diagnosed early. In all cases regarding eye disease, the sooner that treatment is started, the better the chances are for positive outcomes. And that’s what our Gaithersburg eye exam makes possible.

Do right by your eyes and they’ll do right by you. Reach out to us right now to arrange an appointment.

Glaucoma Treatment 20877

Glaucoma testing and treatments in 20877

Glaucoma treatment 20877

Glaucoma treatment 20877

Glaucoma is the eye disease that develops from an imbalance between the fluid that your eyes create and that which it drains, increasing eye pressure to an unsafe level. At Argos Vision and Eye Care Center, you can get screened for glaucoma, which has no obvious symptoms during its early stages, and take advantage of our glaucoma treatment 20877 in a timely manner, to improve the odds of a successful outcome. Left undetected, it can lead to vision loss and even total blindness.

Typically, glaucoma develops over a period of time, but if you suffer an eye injury, infection, or inflammation, it’s possible for the advancement of it to be accelerated. Generally, the condition impacts both eyes, though it’s possible for one to be more so than the other. Since glaucoma develops and then progresses “silently,” without you being aware, it is highly recommended that you get our glaucoma testing every year. Anyone is prone to it, no matter age, ethnic background, gender, heredity, or medical history. If, however, you do notice any of the following, it could mean that you have advanced glaucoma: loss of vision, redness in your eyes, seeing halos surrounding light, eye pain, tunnel vision, and even nausea and vomiting (particularly in conjunction with one or more other symptoms). Don’t wait for a full year go by before you get screened in that case. Diagnostics involve a complete eye exam along with the baseline test of tonometry, which is used to measure your level of internal eye pressure. Our glaucoma treatment 20877 includes options such as topical eye drops for reducing fluid production, laser surgery for improving drainage efficiency, and microsurgery, designed for creating a new drainage channel.

There is no reason to worry about the worst consequences of glaucoma, so long as you get screened annually. Our glaucoma treatment 20877 is effective in providing relief for its effects and restoring optimal eye health.

Gaithersburg Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Pediatric Eye Care in Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Gaithersburg Pediatric Ophthalmologist

At Argos Vision and Eye Care Center our Gaithersburg pediatric ophthalmologist carries a wide range of eyeglasses, frames and contact lenses for children and provides the best in pediatric eye care. Our selection is designed to fit our patient’s needs and all budgets. We also cater to children and their needs when it comes to vision, handling eye problems such as strabismus, nearsightedness, congenital cataracts and amblyopia.

Strabismus is the medical term for eyes that turn or are crossed. With strabismus, the eyes deviate when looking at objects. Amblyopia is a condition better known as lazy eye. Vision is not affected because of an eye disease with amblyopia but because of a problem in which the brain inhibits vision in one eye. Amblyopia is not correctable with glasses or contact lenses, and most usually only affects only one eye. Amblyopia causes reduced vision and can be caused by strabismus, or constant turning of the eye. Our Gaithersburg pediatric ophthalmologist treats amblyopia by using eyeglasses, eye drops, vision therapy or eye patches to help strengthen the weak eye. If the patient is older, vision therapy must be employed to help fix the condition, as it is best to correct this problem before age two for best results.

Our Gaithersburg pediatric ophthalmologist also treats children and adults for nearsightedness and farsightedness. These conditions are treated with eyeglasses or contact lenses, and for adults, LASIK surgery. LASIK is a type of surgery where the patient receives laser therapy that gives them the chance to have 20/20 vision once again, without the need for corrective lenses. LASIK can be done in 15 minutes, and patients have a short healing period. Vision is usually restored within 24 hours.

20877 Eye Care

Glaucoma eye care in 20877

20877 eye care

20877 eye care

Glaucoma is an eye disease in which an imbalance between the eye fluid created and that which is drained causes the pressure in your eyes to increase to an unsafe level. At Argos Vision and Eye Care Center, we are dedicated to preventing you from suffering the worst consequences of this condition. Our glaucoma eye care is recommended as a yearly ritual, so that any signs of it can be detected early, leading to a greater chance for good outcomes.

The way your eye is supposed to work is by creating fluid, circulating it to clean the eye, and then draining it out. This happens every single day, many times. It is only when that fluid cannot be drained efficiently that problems begin to arise. At first, you won’t notice any symptoms. That is typical of many common eye diseases, including glaucoma. Our 20877 eye care can diagnose it even if you don’t know it’s there, though. We use the best of today’s available technology in order to do so. The baseline test is called tonometry. It measures your internal eye pressure. If you do experience any of the following symptoms, however, you should contact us promptly because it likely means you are dealing with a more advanced stage of glaucoma: eye pain, severe headache, blurred vision, halos appearing around light, eye redness, and nausea an vomiting. If our 20877 eye care does determine that you have glaucoma, treatment will center around restoring the balance of fluid creation to fluid drainage. Special eye drops are one method. They reduce your fluid production. Laser treatments can be used to improve drainage. And microsurgery in some cases is a good option, since its goal is to create a new drainage channel.

Schedule our 20877 eye care right now. Contact our office to arrange an appointment.
